Nick Pope (Newcastle)

Signed from Burnley at 30, he arrived as a late developer, and his organisation and shot-stopping helped convert Newcastle into the best defence around, bar the title winners. A battle with Jordan Pickford for an England place seems likely. Whereas Everton’s goalkeeper is all-action, Pope is calmer but can be just as spectacular.
