Young footballers aged 12 and under here will no longer do heading exercises during training, as the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) and several local academies will follow the decision of the English, Scottish and Northern Irish Football Associations (FAs) to outlaw heading for pre-teens.

Two weeks ago, the English FA announced its new heading guidelines following a study of former professionals, which showed that they were 3½ times more likely to suffer from dementia and other serious neurological diseases.
