SINGAPORE - For the first time in the sport's history, the Singapore Karate Federation (SKF) has lost its status as a national sports association (NSA).

This came after it was disaffiliated by the sport's global body, the World Karate Federation (WKF), which in November 2021 chose to appoint the Karate-do Union of Singapore (KUS) as WKF's permanent member instead.
