The target to phase out internal combustion engine vehicles by 2040 is an audacious one, even if it actually means vehicles which run solely on fossil fuels.

To achieve that, an average of 50,000 to 60,000 vehicles will have to be converted to electric or part-electric (hybrid) models each year for the next 20 years.
