In a matter of weeks, they have sprouted by the roadside, next to canals and on beaches. Weeds and wildflowers have run rampant across Singapore where previously they were not allowed to bloom.

Mimosas, dandelions and coatbuttons now dot the once impeccably manicured Garden City since weeding and grass cutting services were halted in many areas due to the extended circuit breaker measures.
