SINGAPORE – A fire broke out in an industrial building in Yishun on Tuesday evening.

In a Facebook post, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the fire at Block 61 Yishun Industrial Park A at 5.15pm.

When SCDF officers arrived, the fire was raging inside two units on the sixth floor of the six-storey building.

Firefighters deployed two water jets and two aerial water monitors to put out the fire. About 80 officers and 20 emergency vehicles were dispatched for the firefighting operation.

The fire, which involved furniture and alcohol products within the two units, was extinguished at 10pm. Damping down operations are being carried out by the SCDF.

No one was injured.

In an earlier post, SCDF put out an advisory asking people to stay away from the area. The advisory was also sent out to users in the area who were registered with telcos M1, StarHub and Singtel.

The message was also sent to SGSecure mobile app users.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
