Even as China and India scramble to cool things down after the deadly clash on their disputed border earlier this month, questions are being asked if this is an inflection point where New Delhi starts to take a harder line towards its northern neighbour.
Both sides blame each other for the skirmish in the remote eastern Ladakh region high in the Himalayas that left 20 Indian soldiers dead and an unknown number of casualties on the Chinese side. This is the deadliest incident in 45 years and took place as both sides were in a disengagement process after more than a month of stand-off in the area.
