How I learnt to bin my plastic way of life

Imposing a charge will deter people from using plastic bags but there is more to the journey in ending one’s addiction to disposables.

I used to chafe at the thought of paying for single-use plastic bags. Living in Perth has sensitised me to what living sustainably means.

When news first broke around 2021 that Singapore was contemplating a law to compel supermarkets to charge for plastic bags, I was among those who pooh-poohed the idea.
