How often do I need to replace my car’s shock absorbers? How do I determine if they are worn out and require renewal? Instead of replacing, can I recondition them?

The correct name of what is commonly referred to as the shock absorber is “damper”. Dampers are part of the suspension system and, as the name suggests, dampen suspension and body motion.
