Businesses need to act on climate challenges, not just carbon emissions: Climate policy expert

SINGAPORE – Carbon emissions are not a very good indicator of financial risks to a company, said an environmental policy expert.

Dr Christopher Au, who heads risk management and insurance broker WTW’s climate and resilience centre in the Asia-Pacific, said in an interview that his research found that Scope 1 emissions have no correlation with the financial risks to firms.
