One of the many viral tweets that captured the ebullient mood among Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters when results of this year's Indian parliamentary election were announced was a selfie from around 2015 from a Congress party worker in Madhya Pradesh.

Dr Krishna Pal Yadav photographed himself with Mr Jyotiraditya Scindia, a Congress leader from one of India's most prominent political and erstwhile royal families.
